SEEA-Water First National Meeting

The next 11 June, organized by SM Geodim and MAGRAMA , will be held in Madrid the first national meeting of the System of Economic and Environmental Water Accounts (SEEA-Water).

The meeting will count with the presence of the European Commission, MAGRAMA, INE, Water Boards and Water Agencies in Spain. Leaders of the European projects related to the subject, which are currently underway will also participate in the meeting.

Spain, through MAGRAMA leads the working group responsible for drafting the guide for water accounts within the CIS (Common Implementation Strategy) of the Water Framework Directive.
The main objective of the CIS is to ensure uniform implementation and coordinated as possible of the Water Framework Directive, so that the member countries and the European Commission itself interpreted in the same way.

SM Geodim leading European projects GuaSEEAW and GuaSEEAW+ purporting to demonstrate the possibilities of implementing water accounts and their ability to obtain indicators for improving the understanding and management of a watershed: water productivity, reuse on stress water, importance of groundwater for irrigation, industrial water productivity or water sector share of total public spending.
